I wanted to highlight a scenario that I am facing with viewing images downloaded from another app. I use the app "PLAYit" from the Play Store to browse Instagram pages and also to download pictures and videos from Instagram. After I download an image through the PLAYit app and when I open MiXplorer to view that image, I am unable to view it.
I open MiXplorer and navigate to the menu > "Image" and then I see few folders there. But the image that I downloaded earlier is not to be seen anywhere in any folder. I also select "All" from the drop-down on top of the page and refresh the page several times but the image does not show up. It seems that for some reason, your app does not scan ALL locations and few folders are missed?
I observed that the app PLAYit downloaded the image in the following folder:
/Storage/emulated/0/PLAYit/download/Image.jpg
Ofcourse, if I navigate manually to this folder in MiXplorer, I am able to view the contents but clicking on 'Image' in the menu should ideally show up each and every image on the device and not just from some locations?
Is there some setting which controls the scan locations for new images?

It cannot show the files in those lists if they're not registered in Android media store.
Rename the file with MiXplorer and it will send the request to register it.

file in the path or a parent path. If you have a bunch of files and need to do it often, the app TeMeFI I developed is what I use to register multiple new media that I have copied to my phone, but has not made it into the mediadb. The entry point in the app is in the menu Dynamic Lists>Media Scan>*
The one restriction is that you need at least one file in the path you wish to scan OR a file in a sub path. But worst case you can scan from /storage/emulated/0 and use the date filters to avoid scanning the whole device.
There is also a method that actually checks/compares whats missing from your media db to the physical file system.
I often transfer new files to my phone using the MiX FTP server. I have found that files transfered using the FTP server are not scanned to the media dB. Not a big issue for me personally as I have the method to update my media db, and as I obviously manually transfer the new files, I know it needs to be done (if I dont wish to wait for Android to catch up). I also have the test I mentioned above to check if anything is missing. ie I missed it.Hi,

Glad to see that you are back as well. The community misses you and really appreciates your support and responsiveness.I'm fine. Thank you.
One small suggestion/request. I use the API26 flavor. When there are notifications for updates - and I go ahead and download them, I find that they are not the API26 flavor.
So, the request is, the update notifications/download should be consistent with the API version that is being used on the device.
Hopefully that is something that could be considered, and if so would be beneficial.
Thanks again and welcome back.

#Apppreview for apps targetting android 12 (API 31) shows Target as 'X' instead of 'S', not an issue but update would look good.
Also next version can be named 'T' now itself instead of 'X', as it's not unknown name now.

you might wanna try MiXplorer_v6.57.2-Beta_B21110330 too
Thanks for the tip. A repeat of the test in MiXplorer_v6.57.2-Beta_B21110330 yields the same results. This time I got logs from MiXplorer and Filezilla which I can share later if they are needed (after some sanitizing), but in both logs it seems like a good connection and authentication is initially made but then later rejected. I can find no obvious errors such as Java exceptions or authentication failures in the MiX log but the last 2 lines in the MiX log before the server "stopped" were
D/SERVER> Request > PWD
D/SERVER> PWD Done
D/FTPServer> Server Stopped!
Although there are no obvious errors in the log previous lines in the log would likely be more informative and can be provided later if needed.
